Arlene R. Summers

Arlene Ruth Summers, age 81, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 12, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Racine on September 3, 1929, daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Nee: Christensen) Summers and had been a lifelong resident.

Arlene graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1948” and had been employed by Kmart for 37 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the American Cryptogram Association and volunteered with animal rescue. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Donald E. Thompson; her aunt, Anna Christensen; cousins, Monica (Charles) Krepelan, Maryann Anderson, William (Ethel) Christensen, Marilyn Christensen, Dorothy Miller, Helyn Smith, Hugh Sweeny; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, August 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Tracy Polzin officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
