Catherine M. Conlon, age 79, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Catherine was born in Chicago, IL, on November 20, 1931, daughter of Arthur and Mary (Nee: Weglarz) Michael.
On May 28, 1955, Catherine was united in marriage to Mark D. Conlon, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2000. She was employed by the Illinois Youth Center for many years. For over thirty years she was a member at St. Ansagar Catholic Church in Hanover Park and was currently a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Catherine enjoyed puzzles, games and watching old movies, but more than anything she cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Penny) Conlon of Roselle, IL, Mary Wilson of Bartlett, IL, Michele (Michael) Cretton of Racine, WI, Shawn Conlon of Woodstock, IL; her grandchildren, Amber Conlon, Jim Wilson, Michael Wilson, Anthony Conlon, Matthew Conlon, Andrew Medrano, Taylor Cretton, Caitlin Cretton; other relatives and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at 4 p.m. at St. Ansgar Catholic Church, 2040 Laurel Ave., Hanover Park, IL, with Rev. Eduardo Garcia-Ferrer officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday at the church from 3 p.m. until time of Mass at 4 p.m. Memorials to Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie or to the American Cancer Society has been suggested.
