Ronald E. Kaplan

Franksville -- Ronald E. Kaplan, 73, passed away at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee on Monday, August 1, 2011, following a brief illness. Ron was born in Racine on February 20, 1938, son of the late Emil and Bernadine (Nee: Sievers) Kaplan.

On December 10, 1993, he was joined in marriage to Judith Rindahl, who survives him. He is further survived by three daughters, Kim Marie (Dr. David) Gabrhel, Sherri Lynn (Scott) Anderson, Debra Ann (Joe) Aponte; stepchildren, David Rindahl Jr., Keith Rindahl, Michele Richter, Yvonne Rindahl; grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brother, Bernard Kaplan; father-in-law, Bud Banker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann (Nee: LaBrasca) Kaplan; and his stepson, Scott Rindahl.

Ron retired from NCR Corporation after many years of employment. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Ron was a past President of the Racine Snowmobile Club and past member of Harbor Lite Yacht Club. Ron loved farming, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling at his cabin up north and in Racine County.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Black officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials have been suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Boiler Fund.

The family wishes to thank all family and friends for their kind thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. A special thank you to the nursing and rehabilitation staff at St. Luke’s Hospital for their loving and compassionate care.
