Franksville -- Elizabeth Mae Hoey, 83, passed away at her residence, on Wednesday, August 31, 2011.
She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 28, 1927, to the late Joseph and Mildred (Nee: Kropf) Matusinec. She spent her early years in Milwaukee. On May 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert H. Hoey. Together they co-founded Shurpac, Inc. Elizabeth was a charter member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. She loved entertaining and taking trips to the lake house in Crandon, which she affectionately named “Hoeyaluiah.” She was an avid Green Bay Packers and a Milwaukee Brewers fan. Above all, Elizabeth was the rock of our family. She took great pride in each and every one of us. We will truly miss her loving, caring and generous ways.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert H. Hoey; her children, Donna Hoey of Wauwatosa, WI, Jeffrey (Eileen) Hoey and Susan (Willard) Wenck, both of Racine; her grandchildren, Rebecca Hoey of Racine, Robert (Heidi) Hoey of Racine, Elizabeth (Richard) Kresen of Elkhorn, and Joseph (Dakota) Mandli of Lake Geneva; six great-grandchidren, Emma, Reagan, Richard, Kendall, Madigan and Josie; brother, Frank (Rose Mary) Matusinec of Milwaukee; as well as other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her in-laws George and Ivah Hoey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. Terrance J. Huebner officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday at the church from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Catherine’s High School or Our Lady of Grace Academy “St. Edward’s Catholic School” by the family.
The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Elizabeth’s caregiver, Jane Beck; as well as her nurses from Hospice Advantage, Marion, Kate and Heather for the loving care you have bestowed upon her as well as our family.
