Edith R. (Lucarelli) Fiori

Edith Fiori (Nee: Lucarelli), 90, passed away surrounded with the love of her family at her side August 23, 2011. Edith was born in Racine, WI, to C.D. and Rose (Nee: Puzzo) Lucarelli on March 16, 1921. She was united in marriage to John C. Fiori on July 27, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa.

During her working career she had been employed at First National Bank and Trust for 12 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and Christian Altar Society and also St. Mary’s Auxiliary volunteer. After the death of her husband, she joined St. Joseph’s Catholic Church to attend Mass with her family. She was proud of the house her husband built and they enjoyed together for 38 years. She lived to see both her daughter and son-in-law live in that house, followed years later by her granddaughter and husband. She was extremely proud of her granddaughter and her great-grandson.

Edith was a great cook, avid reader and enjoyed long walks. She will be sadly missed.

Surviving are her daughter, Doris (Noel) Johnson; granddaughter, Chris (Kai) Kamakian; great-grandsons, Tyler and Nicolas (Niko) Kamakian. Edith will join those who preceded her in death, her parents, C.D. and Rose Lucarelli; sister, Emma Bonini; brothers, Albert, Alfred, Arthur, V.J. (Jim) and Marion.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father Sean Granger, was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Private interment was held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.

A very special thanks to the entire staff (God’s Living Angels) of the Becker Shoop Center for their loving and compassionate care.
