Grace 'Dolly' L. (Dacquisto) Petersen

Grace “Dolly” L. Petersen, age 83, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Dolly was born in Racine, February 15, 1928, daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine (Nee: Roccopalumba) Dacquisto.

Dolly was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and it was there on April 21, 1951, that she was united in marriage to Robert E. Petersen. Dolly was employed by Montgomery Ward for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Belle City Seniors and St. Paul Seniors. Her pastimes included gardening, traveling and photography. More than anything, she cherished caring for her family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty years, Robert; her children, Gloria (John) Zwifelhofer of Mosinee, Gary (Geri) Petersen of Racine; her grandson, Wesley Zwifelhofer of Mosinee; sisters, Anna Schifano, Frances Cacchione, Sarah Arndt; nieces, nephews, dear friends, Theresa Lui and Celeste Trentadue; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Dacquisto; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Doris) Dacquisto, Dom (Hilda) Dacquisto; brothers-in-law, Louis Schifano, August Cacchione and Ron Arndt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church have been suggested.
