Barbara Jean (Miles) Perkins

Barbara J. Perkins, age 89, passed away Tuesday August 16, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Barbara was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on December 16, 1921, daughter of the late Butler and Lorraine (nee: Koser) Miles.

Barbara attended the University of Illinois and was a Delta Gamma. On September 26, 1942, in Paxtang, PA, Barbara was united in marriage to Charles E. Perkins. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a charter member of the PEO, AZ Chapter. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Perkins; her sons, Charles K. Perkins (Susan Thomas) of Chicago, IL, David M. (Catherine) Perkins of Racine; two grandchildren, Charles W. (Amy) Perkins of Pittsboro, NC, David M. (Melissa) Perkins Jr. of Madison, WI; two great-granddaughters, Caroline and Anna Perkins; sister-in-law, Joyce Krenkze of Racine; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, David Bird Miles.

Private funeral services with interment will be held at Mound Cemetery. Memorials to the Racine Health Care Network or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
