Bernadine F. 'Bernie' Eaton, 89, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011, at the Elizabeth Residence. Bernadine was born in Lyndon Station December 13, 1921, daughter of the late John and Maria (nee: Cowan) Naughtin.
On September 8, 1943, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mauston, Bernie was united in marriage to Lester R. Eaton, who preceded her in death February 24, 2010. She and Lester owned and operated United Automatic Products. In her younger years, Bernie was a School Teacher. Bernie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
For many years, she volunteered with various shelters and the Racine County Food Bank. Bernie enjoyed dancing with the Circle 8 Square Dance Club. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage, but most of all, Bernie was proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grand- children. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Patricia (James) Schoff, John W. (Lynne) Eaton, Peggy (Gordie) Singer; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold M. (Betty) Eaton, Lena Eaton, Robert Fosbinder; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lester, Bernie was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward; and three sisters, Mary Ellen (Norman) Bell, Margaret Fosbinder, and Jean (John) Artz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to the Racine County Food Bank have been suggested.
