Elaine F. (Mills) Hinke

Elaine F. Hinke, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Elaine was born in Chippewa Falls, WI, July 7, 1924, daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy (nee: Crandall) Mills.

Elaine attended Finley Lake School, Jim Falls Elementary School and Chippewa Falls High School. Furthering her education, she entered Methodist Kahler School of Nursing Cadet Program, Rochester, Minnesota, and graduated February of 1946. On August 16, 1947, Elaine was united in marriage to Jerald Hinke. They shared sixty-three years together before Jerald preceded her in death December 11, 2010. She belonged to the Sturtevant Homemaker’s Group. An avid reader, Elaine also enjoyed polka dancing, and aquasizing at DeKoven. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Theresa (Robert) Klaus, Katie (Tom) Herzog, Mike (Aurelia) Hinke, John (special friend Carol) Hinke, Julie (Tom) Hopkins, Pat (Marjorie) Hinke, Dotty (Bill) Schulz, Ann (Larry) Charles, Jerry (April) Hinke; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ethel Hinke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Eunice Erickson and Ruth Mills; special aunt, Helen Boehlke; and nephew, Robert Mills.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m.. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing Scholarship Fund have been suggested.
