Anne Marie Bulik

SAN ANTONIO, TX (formerly of Racine) – Mrs. Anne M. Bulik, 88, passed away at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX on Monday, February 9, 2009.

She was born in Czechoslovakia on June 1, 1920, to the late Adam and Helen (nee: Zachar) Hrpcek.

Anne was a longtime member of Holy Trinity and St. Sebastian Catholic Churches while living in Racine. She also belonged to Jednota, the Apostle of the Suffering and St. Monica’s Auxiliary.

Anne will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and friends. Her warm smile was a trademark of her presence and would always greet strangers as if they were a friend. Her legacy will live on through the happy memories she provided, as well as the beautifully created afghans she made for family members and friends. A special note goes out to her close friends at Lincoln Lutheran Village were she lived many years prior to moving to San Antonio.

Her survivors include her children, Mary Ann (Charles) Elles of Florence, OR, Joan (Phillip) Carnahan of Sparks, NV, David (Patricia) Bulik of San Antonio, TX., grandsons, James Gaglione of California and Christopher Bulik of San Antonio; brothers-in-law, Robert Backlin of Astoria and Paul Bulik of Racine; and sisters-in-law, Joan Bulik, Lucille Hrpcek, Helen Bulik of Racine and Stephanie Frank of Niles, IL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Bulik on October 18, 1986; sisters, Mary Giese-Kopecky, Margaret Backlin, brother, Joseph Hrpcek, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lois Hrpcek, Eugene Giese and Joe Kopecky.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 95th St. in Sturtevant, on Saturday, February 14, 2009, for her Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Raczynski officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A private burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
