Marvine Harrell

Marvine Harrell, Jr., 72, passed away February 9, 2009, at Becker Shoop Dementia & Skilled Nursing Facility.

Marvine was born on March 14, 1936, in Ponotoc, Mississippi. Since 1955, he was a resident of Racine, Wisconsin. He was united in matrimony to Jacqueline J. Poindexter on March 15, 1958.

Marvine worked for American Skein, Walker Mfg., Moxness Products and ACME Die Casting. He was a member of Wayman A.M.E. Church, and was a former member on the Usher Board.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving wife of over fifty years, Jacqueline, alongside four children and two daughter-in-laws, Jocelyn Harrell of Irvine, CA, Rhonda King of Racine, Dwayne (Diane) Harrell of Racine and Richard (Tahira) Harrell of Houston, Texas. He had one brother, Wade (Clytie) Harrell; sisters, Mrs. Elaine Mason and Mrs. Marie Green of Racine and Mrs. Effie (Eugene) Autry of Ponotoc, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Myrtle Harrell of Racine. He had 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Marvin and Lou Harrell, and two brothers, Robert Harrell and Sam Harrell.

Marvine was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He had a large circle of very special friends including Eddie & Betty Archie, Howard & Katie Jackson, and Kathleen & Orven Brown. Nina and Daruis were his adopted grandchildren of which he loved and cared for as if they were his own.

A Memorial Service will be held at Wayman A.M.E. Church, 424 Memorial Dr., Racine, WI, on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charlene B. Mills officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to also thank the entire staff at Becker Shoop Dementia & Skilled Nursing Facility and the Alzheimer’s Association for their help and care of Marvine.
