ELROY - Flora Elizabeth (nee: Burdick) Osgood, 91, formerly of Racine, late of Elroy, was promoted to Glory on Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was born in Ontario, Wisconsin, on October 10, 1917, the daughter of George and Gladys (nee: Griffin) Burdick.
Flora was a longtime resident of Racine and was united in marriage to Ross Leonard Osgood in Lindsey, Wisconsin, on December 23, 1934. She retired from Motor Specialty as a drill press operator after many years of service. Flora was a former member of Christ Church United Methodist of Racine, and the Rebecca Lodge. Most recently she had attended United Methodist Church of Wonawoc, WI.
Flora is survived by her two sons, LeRoy (Carol) Osgood of Oconto, and Ross Robert “Bob” Osgood of Elroy; and one daughter, Lynn (Richard) Ting of Sturtevant. She is further survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Mary) Burdick; and one sister, Marie Booth. Flora is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends in Racine and Elroy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ross on March 28, 1988; three sons, George, Donald and Elwyn “Buddy”; two grandsons, Danny Lee and George W. Osgood; one sister; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rosalind Dryver-Scott officiating. Burial will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Flora’s name to Christ Church United Methodist or Wonawoc United Methodist Church have been suggested by the Osgood family.
