Rachel C. Tenuta

Rachel C. Tenuta, age 82, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine, November 30, 1926, daughter of the late Saverio and Mary (Nee: Serpe) Tenuta.

Rachel graduated from Washington Park High School. She was employed by Western Printing for over twenty years and had bowled on their bowling league. She last was employed with Badger Shirt Co. until her retirement. Rachel was a member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting, cooking and bingo. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her brother, Anthony (Dorothea) Tenuta; sister-in-law, Patricia Tenuta; nieces and nephews, David Tenuta, James Tenuta, Susan (Allen) Johnson, Jeffrey Tenuta, Diane Tenuta, Marie (Robert) Piek; grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Annunziato “Nunzie,” Saverio “Sam,” and Robert.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested.
