Howard William Welch, 77, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints on Thursday February 5, 2009.
Mr. Welch was born in Racine on June 8, 1931, and had lived his entire life in Racine. On June 22, 1955, he was united in marriage to Caroll LaMack.
Mr. Welch proudly served his country while in the Army during the Korean War. He had been employed at American Motors / Chrysler for over 30 years, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and helping others
Howard is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Caroll; his three children, David (Jill) Welch, Lisa (Craig) Graul and Steven (Karen) Welch; his six grandchildren, Jaime, Tera, Justin, Eric, Kristen and Sarah; one great-grandchild, Kylee; one sister Beverly (Clinton) Crosby; and many other relatives and friends. Howard was preceded in death by his father, William Welch; mother, Vera Welch; as well as his birth mother, Elizabeth, and an infant brother.
Funeral services for Mr. Welch will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Internment will follow with full military honors at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until service time
