George John Sorenson Sr.

George John Sorenson Sr., 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at W.F.H. All Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on July 14, 1935, the son of George and Regina (nee: Lewandowski) Sorenson.

On July 14, 1956, in Racine, George was united in marriage to Rodnette ‘Roddy’ Keim. He was an active member of Racine Assembly of God Church. George was a proud member of Local 19 for over 40 years. He worked for L & S Insulation Company, retiring after many years of service. George loved spending time with his family and friends.

George is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Roddy, and their children; Ardetta (Henry) Sherman, George Jr. (Barb) Sorenson, Frank (Janice) Sorenson, Chantel (John) Lunda and Mark (Danielle) Sorenson all of Racine; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Judy) Sorenson of North Carolina; sisters, Judy (Paul) Kielbasa of Racine and Janet (Pete) Huffman of Almond, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank Blavat; sister, Millie (Erv) Post; brothers, Norm Sorenson and Bob (Shirley) Sorenson.

Homegoing services will be held at Racine Assembly of God Church, 1325 Airline Rd., on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Scott Brownell officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Church on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday before services from 9 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Racine Assembly of God Church have been suggested.

A special thank you to Dr. Puffer, Dr. Culen and Dr. Johnson for their fine and professional care given to George. Also heartfelt thanks to our church family and friends for all their prayers and support.
