Gail Madsen, age 66, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Ridgewood Health Care Center. She was born in Racine on April 5. 1942, daughter of the late Joseph and LaVerne (Nee: Mueller) Hurbis.
On September 26, 1970, Gail was united in marriage to John Madsen at St. Edwards Catholic Church. Gail was a member and past president of Racine and Kenosha Inner Wheel clubs and a past zone representative of Inner Wheel USA. She also was a member of the Racine Junior Womens Club.
Surviving are her husband, John; her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis (Valerie) Hurbis; father-in-law, Neils K. Madsen; special cousin, Karen (Frank) Osmitz; god-daughter, Kim (Eric) Christensen and their children, Henry, Frank and Grace; special friends, Howard and Betty Jeske, Don and Joan Cotton, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Haase officiating. Private entombment will be held at Holy Cross garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 17 from 5 until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday at 10 until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials to the Inner Wheel USA Foundation have been suggested by the family.
A special thank you to Dr. John Brennan, Dr. Thomas Connor, Dr. Paul Knudsen, Dr. Jaishree Hariharan, Kristy Hentz RN, all of the care givers at Ridgewood especially Annabelle, Toni, Charlotte and Jewel and the therapy department for their loving and compassionate care given to Gail.
