Elsie E. (Nasticky) Mano

Elsie E. Mano, age 84, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Lakeshore Manor. Elsie was born in Racine May 26, 1924, daughter of the late Adam and Anna (nee: Sagat) Nasticky and had been a lifelong resident.

Elsie was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1942.” On September 1, 1951, Elsie was united in marriage to John S. Mano at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Through the years she was employed as a bookkeeper with Peerless Machine, Racine Die Cast, Napa Auto Parts and lastly with Twin Disc. Elsie was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and with the Catholic Slovak Sokol. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty seven years, John; her son, Thomas (Char) Mano; her granddaughter, Paige Mano; her brother Joe (Carol) Nasticky, all of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Elsie was also preceded in death by her sister, Olga Aller.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 3, at 6 p.m., with Bishop Richard J. Sklba officiating. Entombment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Masses to be said in Elsie’s name have been suggested.
