Robert A. Vilt, 73, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, February 16, 2009.
Robert as born on January 27, 1936, in Joliet, IL, to Frank Joseph and Helen Baxter (nee: McGlucky) Vilt. In his younger years he moved around a lot and settled in Racine 40 years ago. Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He also owned and operated his own insurance company.
Robert is survived by his son, Kurt Vilt; daughter, Lisa Vilt; stepson, David (Debbie) Nelsen; daughter-in-law, Debra Vanden Branden; grandchildren, Vanessa and Erica Nelsen, Leah Vanden Branden, Toni, Crystal and Booker Scott; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Nelsen, Jewel, Jason and Christian Scott. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and long-time companion, Derelys Nelsen.
A memorial gathering for Robert will be held at Danny Palms, 2322 Lathrop Ave., on Saturday, March 7, 2009, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
