Norma N. Valente, age 84, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at her residence. Norma was born in Chicago, IL, February 1, 1925, daughter of the late Angelo and Rose Naccarato.
On September 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to Valentino “Tino” V. Valente who preceded her in death, April 2, 2007. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Norma enjoyed movies, and especially loved watching the food channels since she was such a wonderful cook. Above all she devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Edward) Swiatek of Arlington, TX, and Denise (Robert) McGee of Racine; her granddaughter, Taylor; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rose (Edward) Muzenski, Mary (Ray) Stevens, Vivian Graceffa and Vilma Christiansen, all of Racine, Valeria Peters of Milwaukee and Michael James of Pleasant Prairie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nina (Fred) Montague.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
