Dominick 'Dom' Joseph Parise

Dominick ‘Dom’ Joseph Parise, 76, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. He was born in Kenosha on March 14, 1933, the son of Joseph and Gilda (nee: Missurelli) Parise.

Dom was a graduate of Kenosha High School, continuing his education; he received his Barber Degree from Molar Barber College in Chicago.

Dom Served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1955. He was a saxophone player with the 5thArmy band. On June 6, 1953, Dom was united in marriage to Loretta Litrenta in Racine. He owned and operated Dom Parise’s Barber Shop, located on Douglas Avenue for 51 years, retiring in 2006.

Dom is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Loretta; son, David of Franksville; grandchildren, David Jr., of Franksville, Abbey, Steven and Mitchell, all of Waukesha; brother, Dennis (Pam) Jahns of Kenosha; brother-in-law, Rocco Litrenta of Racine; sister-in-law, Rosemarie (Samuel) Pulice. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Loretta would like to thank her care-giving team, Barbara Solomon, Patti Stindle and Gina Christensen.

Dom was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, June 22, 2009, at 11 a.m. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Hwy. #32. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
