Lydia 'Louise' Weber

Lydia “Louise” Weber, 91, passed away at Wheaten Franciscan Hospital - All Saints on Saturday June 6, 2009. She was born in Racine on March 21, 1918, the daughter of Fred and Estella (nee: Fischer) Lassen.

Louise was united in marriage to John “Jack” Weber on September 27, 1941, in Racine at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, a church usher, and a Sunday school and confirmation teacher. Louise was a long-time Girl Scout leader and teacher's aide, was very active with the River Bend Nature Center as a volunteer and guide. She found great enjoyment in painting watercolors, attending the Fireside Theatre and travel throughout the United States, and overseas, especially traveling down the Amazon River in her later years.

Louise is survived by her sister, Elsie (Howard) Hein of Bristol; niece and Goddaughter, Lisa Viskoe, nephew, Stuart Roszina, both of Oak Creek; niece, Laurie Winn of Louisville, Kentucky; and nephew, Michael (Lynn) Hein of Kenosha. She is further survived by grandniece, Alyssa Hein of Florida; and two grandnephews, Christopher Hein of Kenosha and Eric Roszina of South Milwaukee, along with other relatives and dear friends. Louise was preceded in death by he husband, John “Jack” on July 19, 1974; and one sister, Jean Roszina on November 18, 2006.

Funeral Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio St., on Wednesday June 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. M.A. Miritz officiating. Burial will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday June 9, 2009, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, Lousie’s family has suggested memorials to River Bend Nature Center, 3600 N. Green Bay Rd., Racine, WI 53404.
