Irene 'Wee' Rose Reimers

Irene “Wee” Rose Reimers, 79, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints on June 22, 2009. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 27, 1929, the daughter of Michael and Katarina (nee: Matijevich) Viljac.

Irene retired from Baxter-Travenol in Illinois after more than 10 years of service. She loved to golf at Countryside Golf Course in Mundelein, along with singing, dancing and music. Irene found most of her joy cooking, especially on Sundays surrounded by her family, while enjoying a good game of Scrabble.

Irene is survived by her loving sons, Phillip of Dallas, TX, Glen (Chris) of Aurora, IL, Gary of Plymouth, WI, and James of Dallas, TX; one sister, Julie Tamblyn of Clinton, MA; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristin) Reimers, Erik Reimers, Aviation Technician Ashley Reimers, serving with the United States Navy, stationed on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, Alyssa, Kyle, Luke, Kristopher, and Katarina Reimers.

She is also survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Viljac; and brother-in-law, Jack Evans; dear family members, Larry and Jan Reimers; former daughter-in-law, Tracey Cochran; and special friends, Delores Citterman and Carol Demski; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends in Racine, Mundelein and Dallas.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Evans; one brother, Tom Viljac; brother-in-law Gerald Tamblyn; special friend, Anne Wieser; and former husband, Cecil Reimers.

In keeping with Irene’s wishes, cremation has taken place, with burial to be held at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL, on July 10, 2009, at 11 a.m.in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Southeastern Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association, 6130 West National Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53214, or Lincoln Lutheran Becker-Shoop Center, 6101 16th St., Racine, WI.
