Ruth L. Kyle, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Harmony Commons. Ruth was born in Menasha, WI, July 16, 1923, daughter of the late Herman and Eda (Nee: Hering) Duemke.
On September 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gene W. Kyle who preceded her in death, February 23, 2007. Ruth was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center for many years until her retirement in 1981. Ruth was an active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church where she served as Deacon and was a member of the church choir. She was also a charter member of the Racine Symphonic Chorus. Above all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Rika (Richard) Hoff of Knoxville, TN, Daniel Kyle of Milwaukee, William (Susan) Kyle of Louisville, KY, Susan (John) Havens of Milwaukee, Betty (Craig) Petersen of Racine; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Blohm of Appleton, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy and her brother, Earl.
Relatives and friends may meet with family at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio Street, on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services at the church will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Melanie Hammond-Clark officiating. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Covenant Presbyterian Church or to Hospice Alliance have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staffs at Harmony Commons and Hospice Alliance for their love, care, and devotion.
