Elizabeth T. Hansen, age 84, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009, at Timber Oaks, Union Grove, WI. Elizabeth was born in East Chicago, Indiana, on April 27, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary J. (Nee: Czap) Nyiri and had been a resident of Racine since 1926.
She attended St. Patrick Grade School and William Horlick High School. On June 17, 1950, at St. Patrick Catholic Church she was united in marriage to LeRoy Hansen, who preceded her in death on January 31, 2003. She was a member of St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church. Elizabeth was employed by Racine Wireworks and Western Printing. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Stephen (Jeanne) Nyiri of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” (Lucille) Hansen of Racine, Ione (James) Jander of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Zoltan, Joseph, Louis and John; and two sisters, Annie Spiegel and Margaret Treiber.
Graveside services with interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32, on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 9 a.m. with Rev. Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Memorials to St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to administrator Bruce Barrett and staff at Timber Oaks for their excellent care and consideration.
