Ruth May Wesner

Mrs. Ruth May Wesner, 83, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

Ruth was born in Milwaukee to the late Byron and Verna (nee: Engel) Fuller on January 16, 1928. She lived in Racine all of her life. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Richard O. Wesner at Calvary Memorial Church on October 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1981.

Mrs. Wesner was employed at Educators Credit Union as the Vice-President of lending, credit counseling and student loans for 22 years. She retired in 1990. She was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church. There she served on the Mission Board and the Finance Board. Ruth was well known for her musical talents as an accomplished pianist, organist and the choir at church. One of the highlights of her life was a trip to Zaire, Africa, to work at a mission station. She was also well known for her concern for others.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, David Wesner and Randy Wesner (fiancé, Marna Glover-Krueger); and one granddaughter, Sarah Wesner. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Nile Fuller; sister, Lucille (Edward) Niesen; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil (Rose) Wesner.

A funeral ceremony will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard C. Rogers officiating. Entombment will be held at Graceland Cemetery on Monday, March 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. until the time of ceremony. Memorials may be directed to the Gideon’s Bible for United States Military Servicemen.
