Richard G. Jarstad

Richard G. Jarstad, age 66, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his residence. Richard was born in Racine, December 16, 1944, son of the late Marvin G. and Anna (Nee: Mayer) Jarstad and had been a lifelong Racine resident.

On March 12, 1983, Richard was united in marriage to Jane M. Hill. He was employed as a mechanic for various foundries. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed repairing bikes, lawnmowers and fans. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Jane; his children, Rachel Jarstad (fiancé, Randy), Ricky Jarstad, all of Racine, Charlene Crandall of Mondovi, Michelle Ruleford of Kenosha; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bobby (Barbara) Jarstad, Randy (Diane) Jarstad, Seno Jarstad, Tommy (Fran) Jarstad, Julie Viertel, and Rosemary (John) Meyer; mother-in-law, Enid Hill of Largo, FL; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Steve) Vogelman of Racine, Lisa (Tom) Greve of Baraboo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Kummer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Cundari officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.
