Paul S. Gales

Paul S. Gales, age 95, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 28, 2011. Paul was born in Racine on December 31, 1915, son of the late Theophil and Agatha (Nee: Lukstowina) Galzanski.

On July 6, 1954, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” Pedersen, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2008. Paul was last employed by Motor Specialty. He was a longtime member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Paul was an avid golfer who enjoyed participating in the Commercial Golf League for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Thomas (Linda) Gales of Racine, Patricia (Thomas) Barina of New Berlin, Judith Fornes of Racine; his grandchildren, Michelle Schimanski, David (Jessica) Gales, Stephanie (Andrew) Weaver, Michael (Kristin) Barina, Andrew (Jaya) Barina, Rachelle Barina, Todd Fornes, Michael Fornes; seven great-grandchildren, Emily and Sidney Schimanski, Betsy and Millie Gales, Isabel Weaver, Zachary and Nicholas Fornes; brothers-in-law, Edward Bauer, Gordon Hansen, both of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (Nee: LaMartina); his daughter, Suzanne in 1991; sisters and brothers, Joan Kropp, Marion Pierson, Bertha Hess, Ollie Haluska, Richard and William Gales, Evelyn Bauer and Dorothy Straight.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Reverend Roger Savage officiating, assisted by Deacon Russell Missureli. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to St. Catherine’s High School or St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Deacon Russell Missureli for his faithful visits, spiritual guidance and friendship to Paul for so many years, and to the staff on 3 Med at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for their compassionate care.
