Mary Ann Zamecnik, age 62, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Mary Ann was born in Racine on November 18, 1948, daughter of the late Lewis and Virginia “Jean” (Nee: Mohrbacher) Mason.
Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1966.” On March 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Zamecnik who preceded her in death, September 4, 1977. She was employed as an LPN and Medical Transcriptionist for many years. Mary Ann belonged to the Women’s Bowling Association for many years. Her pastimes included playing bingo, cards, cribbage and board games. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Pauline) Zamecnik, Scott Zamecnik, Christopher “Chrissy Mike” Zamecnik, Jodi (Rick) Chingway; her four grandchildren, Molli, Jessie, Hunter, Cheyenne; sister, Karen (Jerry) Calliari; sister-in-law, Pam (Robert) Beckett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 West Sixth St., with Rev. Stephen Samuelson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday at church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
