Joyce E. (Aagesen) Guilette

Joyce E. Guilette, age 84, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan, on February 28, 1927, daughter of the late Adolph A. and Tilda M. (Nee: Running) Aagesen and had been a long-time Racine resident.

Joyce was employed by Western Publishing for twenty-seven years, retiring February of 1982. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She also belonged and volunteered with the Friends of Seniors. Joyce enjoyed dominoes and playing cards with her friends. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Brent A. (Lisa) Burdick of Waldorf, MD, Ronald L. (Sally) Burdick of Racine, Sharon K. Burdick of Racine; stepchildren, Mark F. (Linda) Jena of Racine, Michelle Guilette (Doug Edwards) of Madison, WI; her grandchildren, Anna Staton (Nick Rusko-Berger), Alex Burdick, Jerad Burdick, Niccole Granger, Christopher Burdick; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Audrey Granger; sisters-in-law, Virginia Baranick, Loretta (Myron) Pehlke, Emily Vandertie; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin J. Burdick, Frederick “Bud” T. Jena, and Julius J. Guilette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 18, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or to one's favorite charity have been suggested.
