Marylou (Powers) Miller

Marylou Miller, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, at her residence. Marylou was born in Kenosha, December 30, 1923, daughter of the late John and Florence (Nee: Hylen) Powers.

On July 27, 1946, at Gospel Tabernacle in Racine she was united in marriage to Thomas Miller Jr., who preceded her in death on January 5, 2006. Marylou was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church, well known for catering numerous church events. Above all she devoted her life and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her five children, Margaret “Peggy” (Bob) Korlewitz of West Chester, OH, Thomas (Sue) Miller III of Menomonie, WI, Peter Miller of Racine, Nancy Anne Miller of Eagle River, WI, Jim Miller of Menomonie, WI; her two grandchildren, Megan (Mark) Wesco of West Chester, OH, Rob Korlewitz of West Chester, OH; her one great-granddaughter, Kylie Wesco; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; three sisters, Virginia Steiner, Betty Ruffalo, and Patricia Martin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave., with Rev. Nathan James officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Memorials to Calvary Memorial Church have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Marylou’s caregivers at Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
