Delores Jean “Dee” Weidner, 57, passed away at her home on Friday, July 25, 2008, with her family by her side.
Delores was born in Racine on February 4, 1951, to Arnold and Bernice (nee: Burant) Weidner. She was employed by the City of Racine and Racine County. Most recently she was employed with Mayflower Tours as a Tour Director. Delores enjoyed traveling especially to Branson, MO. She like to play cards, dice, Bingo,and watch movies. Most importantly she loved being with her family and friends. Delores held degrees in science and accounting. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Delores fought a courageous battle with a rare form of inflammatory Breast Cancer known as the silent killer.
She is survived by her siblings, Darlene Brawner of North Richland Hills, TX, Debbie (Jon) Young of Springfield, MO, Diane (Bob) Gatzke of Racine, Denise (Roger) Koenen of Forsyth, MO, and Craig (Jeanie) Weidner of Ingleside, IL; 9 nephews and nieces, Jason (Jennifer) Brawner, Joshua Brawner, Jacob (Amanda) Brawner, Katie Rose Brawner, Ashley Young, Courtney Young, Jen (Kevin) Erickson, Bryan Gatzke and Craig John “CJ” Weidner; and nine great nieces and nephews, Ashley, Harley, Nathan, Dakota, Maylea, Madison, Corbin and Katherine Brawner, and Ryan Erickson. Delores is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Delores will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 ,at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Quinn officiating. Visitation time with the family will be held after the services in the church hall. A private family inurnment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Johns’ Lutheran Church, Smile Train, or any other of Delores’ favorite charities have been suggested.
