Norma Jean (nee: Sahagian) Anderson, 85, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
Norma was born in Racine on May 7, 1923, the daughter of Alexander and Agkavin Sahagian. Norma was the beloved wife of Lyle Anderson who preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daniel Anderson. Norma worked at Belle City Foundry where she met her husband, Lyle. While Lyle was field man, Norma ran the concession at Westgate Outdoor Theatre for many years as well as the Golden Lantern restaurant. Norma was a gifted artist who taught porcelain and china painting for over 40 years and, along the way, participated in craft fairs and shows, befriending many and enjoying life and sharing her talents. She enjoyed life immensely and was taken from all who loved her all too soon.
Norma is survived by her son, William Lee Anderson; daughter, Caroline Thompson; grandson, William Lyle Thompson; daughter-in-law, Marcia; grandchildren, Kim Bednarski, Tracy Anderson, Brad Smith, Jeff Smith; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Joseph Bednarski, Jacob and Stephanie Smith; sister, Clara, and brother-in-law, Ken; sister, Pat, and significant other, John; her brother, George, and sister-in-law, Albera; beloved nephew, Joseph Hand, and his sons, Joseph Jr. and Bobbi Hand; many friends and extended family members.
Funeral services for Norma will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Yeprem Kelegian officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, one’s favorite charity or the family.
