Genevieve (Genny) Jean Olive, 70, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008. She was born in Racine on Aug. 11, 1937, to the late Jack and Ida (nee: Cicero) Daceno. She lived all of her life in Racine. She was united in marriage to William F. Olive at St. Edward Catholic Church on May 23, 1959.
She was employed at Motor Specialty and Ametek Electric, last working 1985. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She loved to collect music boxes, figurines and was an avid Packer fan. She was partners in the family business in Lead, South Dakota, from 1990-2001 and loved to travel with her family to her favorite destination, Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, William F. Olive, of 49 years; her children; Kathryn (Patrick) Berger, William (Elena) Olive, Michael Olive; two grandchildren, Jake Berger and Roman Palvanov; two brothers, Charles (Alice) Daceno and Phillip (Carol) Daceno; three sisters, Rosemary Bouwma, Lucy Greene and Jackie Skaggs; and special friend, Donna Walquist; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive. Two sisters and other relatives preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1425 Grove Ave., on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
A special thanks to the Lincoln Lutheran Day Care Facilities and Volunteers, along with the Kenosha Visiting Nurses Association and the entire staff of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints.
On behalf of her children and grandchildren, we would like to thank our Dad for his loving care and dedication to Mom over the years of her illness. He is an Angel.
