Diane C. Boyd

Diane C. Boyd, age 70, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Diane was born in Racine, August 24, 1937, daughter of the late Elmer and Clara E. (Nee: Larsen) Buchman.

On November 26, 1955, at St. Lucy Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Thomas B. Boyd. Diane was an avid reader and collector of books and enjoyed her employment at Barnes & Noble for over twenty-five years, retiring in 2006. She also belonged to the Barnes & Noble Book Club and was a reading volunteer at Bullen Middle School in Kenosha. Diane was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and volunteer for their REST program. Above all Diane enjoyed traveling, gardening and cherished time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; her two children, Thomas J. Boyd and Jill R. Boyd, both of Racine; her three grandchildren, Bryan, Jeffrey and Rick; very special cousin, Evelyn (Harry) Larsen; sisters-in-law, LoAnn Manders, Patricia (Ray) Jorgensen; her granddog, Gabbers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Avenue, Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the Countryside Humane Society or to the Pancreatic Cancer Network have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Michael Mullane and staff at Oncology Alliance, and to the nursing staff at Wheaton Franciscan 2D for their loving and compassionate care given.
