Theodore J. 'Ted' Gabor

Theodore J. 'Ted' Gabor, age 84, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 30, 2008, at Wheaton Franciscan–All Saints Medical Center. Theodore was born in Stevens Point, WI, on August 16, 1923, son of the late Leo and Mathilda (nee: Garski) Gabor.

During World War II, Ted proudly served in the U.S. Merchant Marines. Ted was employed by J.I. Case for a number of years and last employed by Wisconsin Electric for 29 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and 5th Street Yacht Club.

Survivors include his son John (Judi) Gabor; grandchildren, Marcy Todd and Penelope Gabor, Michelle Gabor, and Christine (Chris) Tuttle; sister, Regina Koll; great grandchildren: Elizabeth Fletcher, Cecily Shain, Max and Joe Tuttle; special friend, Shirley Saltys; dear friends, Josie, Mike and Sara, Valarie and Bill; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his two wives, Elaine (nee: Sherman) and Lucy (nee: Bein), his son Theodore, his sister Bernice Haluska, and his step-mother, Stella Gabor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 700 Green St, Saturday, August 2, 2008, 10 a.m. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Calvary Garden Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church have been suggested.
