Harold B. Angel, 94, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
Harold was born in Chicago, IL, on March 29, 1914, to Robert and Elizabeth (nee, Murphy) Angel. He has been a resident of Racine since 1920. Harold married the former Gertrude Bruton. She preceded him in death in 1981. Harold was employed by Angel Lithographing. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Atlantic from 1942 until 1945 and was a member of VFW Post 1391. Harold graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1933, after which he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. He loved to play cribbage and was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. Harold’s wit and humor will be greatly missed.
Harold is survived his children, Paul (Peggy) Angel of Dodgeville, Tom (Ann) Angel of Madison, Vincent (Linda) Angel, Sheila Angel, and Fred Angel all of Racine; five grandchildren, Timothy Angel, Matthew Angel, Christopher Angel, Erin Angel and Clare Angel; great- grandchildren, Samuel Angel, Paul Angel and Maggie Angel; brother, Robert (Winnie) Angel of Racine; and sisters- in-law, Cathryn Miller and Fran Baker. Harold is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial services for Harold will be held at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 15th Street on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 10 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Ronald J. Gramza. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
