Marie A. Oertel, age 87, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Marie was born in Racine, February 20, 1921, daughter of the late Otto and Anna (Nee: Feurerer) Oertel. Marie was a graduate of Park High School. She was employed by Larsen’s Bakery for many years.
Survivors include her loving nieces, Nancy Mascari of Grayslake, IL, and Rose (Dave) Blaszcynski of Racine; great nephews, Marie’s pride and joy, Joe Blaszcynski and Sam Blaszcynski; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Mascari in 1999.
Funeral services will be held at St. Monica’s Chapel, 3920 N. Green Bay Road, Tuesday August 5, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Paul A. Daniels officiating. Private family interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at St. Monica’s Chapel Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
The family extends a special thank you to Mindy from Hospice, Sr. Irene Hanika, Marge Larson R.N. and the entire staff at St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home for their loving and compassionate care.
