Joyce E. Rinta

Joyce E. Rinta, age 56, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center.

Joyce was born in Racine on February 17, 1953, and was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1971.” Furthering her education she received Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Carthage College. On November 27, 1971, she was united in marriage to John L. Rinta, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2001. Joyce was employed as a Financial Analyst at Racine Recycling, Curative Workshop, U.S. Leather, Mercury Outboard, TMJ 4, Blythe Company, Midwest Management, and most recently at Case New Holland. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the AAUW. Above all Joyce cherished time spent with and caring for her grandson, Reed Macabee Rinta, whom she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her son, Tyler John Rinta; her grandson, Reed Macabee Rinta; her mother, Lois J. Kilby (Nee: Kammerait); sister, Jean Marie Kilby of Racine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Carol Rinta and nephews, Jeremy and Jason all of Las Vegas; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, L. Kenneth Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4340 Six Mile Road, Monday, March 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel L. Hinrichs officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church have been suggested.

To the family of Joyce: I worked with Joyce @ the Curative Workshop from 1992 - 1994. She was a special lady & she taught me a lot about mangement. I met Tyler when he was young, Joyce was so proud of him. I'm sure that his son, Reed is just as bright and wonderful. I know that she will be missed.
