Beatrice ‘Bea’ V. (nee: Jensen) Lehman, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on May 15, 1924, the daughter of Anton and Petra Jensen.
Bea was united in marriage to Robert W. Lehman on November 23, 1946, at St. Edwards Catholic Church. She was a 1942 graduate of Washington Park High School. A former member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Bea retired from Wisconsin Telephone Company after many years of service. She had been a coach for her daughter’s softball team and a Cub Scout Leader and Den Mother. Bea enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, sudoku and playing bingo. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing and especially spending time at her cottage in Door County.
Surviving are her children, Jim Lehman, Mary (Lou) Freeman all of Racine, Paul (Brenda) Lehman of Michigan and Laura Lehman of Racine; grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura Marie) Lehman, Nicole (fiancé Ryan) Lehman, Mark (Amanda) Lehman, Fred (Jenny) Dietel, Josh (Chrissy) Lehman, Leah (fiancé Curtis) Freeman and Sarah Freeman; 6 great-grandchildren, Emma, Jordan, Christopher, Samantha, Keli and Jackie; brother, Stanley (Elaine) Jensen of Racine. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on March 19, 1984; parents; brother Arnold Jensen and a sister, Dorothea ‘Dorothy’ Dustir.
Services will be held at St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home, 3920 N. Green Bay Rd., on Friday, September 12, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Hwy 32, at 1 p.m. There will be a visitation at St. Monica’s on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Monica’s have been suggested.
