Joyce A. Weimer (nee: Arents), age 83, passed away Wednesday evening September 17, 2008, at Wheaton Fransiscan-All Saints Medical Center. Joyce was born in Kenosha on November 4, 1924, daughter of the late Sylvester and Frieda (nee: Fleischman) Arents.
She was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1942.” During World War II, Joyce was employed with the J.I. Case Company. On November 9, 1946, Joyce was united in marriage to Donald E. Weimer, who preceded her in death in 1984. She was a member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church. Joyce loved oil painting and gardening, but above all it was her family, especially her grandchildren, that gave her the greatest joy. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son, Donald (Kathy) Weimer; son-in-law, Michael Krieger; grandchildren, Wendy Krieger, Michael (Martha) Krieger, Matthew Glassen, Trevor Weimer and Tanner Weimer; sister-in-law, Julie Arents; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Krieger and her brother LeRoy Arents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Monday, September 22, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association have been suggested.
