Michleen 'Mickey' (Riley) Knesting

Michleen M. Knesting, “Mickey,” age 61, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital. She was born in Racine, July 3, 1947, daughter of Frank and Mary (Nee:Carney) Riley.

Mickey graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1965” and went on to graduate from Dominican College. On July 21, 1973, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Edward L. Knesting, who preceded her in death on August 30, 1998. Mickey was an educator employed by Racine Unified School District for 17 years, teaching at Knapp and West Ridge Elementary Schools. She was most recently employed by J. Reckner Associates, Inc. in marketing research. Mickey was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, especially the large print books at the Racine Public Library. Above all she was a loving daughter, sister, a dedicated wife and mother and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her daughter, Kristina M. Knesting; her father, Frank L. Riley; sister, Kathleen (Robert G.) Riegelman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard (Sandy) Knesting, Pat (Paul) Roelli, Nancy Knesting, Donna Knesting; special friend, Jim Schimanski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Reverend Paul M. Esser officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet Tuesday at the church 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to Racine Public Library Large Print Books or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church have been suggested.
