Richard served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. He then graduated from the University of Wisconsin and enjoyed a successful career as a salesman for Heyman Distributing Company, Chicago, IL.Richard is survived by his son, John Stroemer of Minnesota; daughter, Jane (Tom) Hearn of Racine; four grandchildren, Erik (Alyssa) Stroemer and Sarah (Matt) Anderson both of Minnesota, Heather (Matt) Remington and T.J. Hearn both of Racine; and three great-grandchildren, Ava and Jack Anderson and Mackenzie Jo Stroemer all of Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Catherine Stroemer of Virginia. He is further survived by nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo; parents, William and Della Stroemer; brother, William Stroemer; in-laws, Arlow and Cora Mae Solbraa; sister-in-law, Arlyss Karlson and brother-in-law, Robert Karlson.
Memorial services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday, September 7, 2008, at 2 p.m. There will be a time to meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.
The family would like to thank all of Dick’s neighbors and friends who so compassionately helped him while he suffered with Alzheimer’s.
