William C. Story, 78, passed away at W.F.H. – All Saints on Monday, September 15, 2008.
He was born in Ripley, Mississippi, on June 15, 1930, the son of the late Cleve and Jinnie Mae (nee: Simelton) Story. In 1963, W.C. married the former Lorene Simmons.
W.C. served his nation with the U.S. Army. He retired from J.I Case Corporation.
W.C. belonged to Second Missionary Baptist Church, N.A.A.C.P, the American Legion and the Masons.
In addition to his loving wife, Lorene, he is survived by his children, Cassandra Johnson, William A. Story and Mary Story all of Blue Mountain, MS; 7 grandchildren, especially Julian Story whom he helped raise; 11 great-grandchildren; special grandson, Julian; 3 sisters and 4 brothers, Mary (Elder Walter) Hughlett of Milwaukee, Evone Story, Linda (Richard Wade) Story, Oliver (Orine, also Lorene’s twin sister) Story, Ellis Story, all of Racine, Lawyer (Mary) Story of Milwaukee and Freddie Story of Columbus, MS; mother-in-law, Johnnie B. Simmons; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Ruth) Simmons, John Simmons, Deborah Cobb, Mary Witherspoon, Elizabeth Gregory and Valerie (Walter) Rogers all of Racine; and a host of other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday for a visitation from 4-6 p.m. His Homegoing will be celebrated at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1120 Grand Ave., on Monday, September 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Bishop L.L. Kirby officiating. There will also be a visitation in the church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
William’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at W.F.H. – All Saints Dialysis West Unit and Dr. John Brennan for the loving care he received during his illness.
