Dorothy was employed for over eighteen years at Kiefer Leather Goods. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and the Eagle’s Club. Above all she was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed.Survivors include her five children, Jerry (Linda) Bouwens, John (Suzanne) Bouwens, Gloria Sikes, Rocky (JoAnn) Rockwell all of Racine, and Jay (Nancy) Rockwell of Round Rock, TX; her grandchildren, Marypat (Eric) Stoner, Michelle Gautsch, Marvlynn (Philip) Link, Matthew Bouwens, Norma (Guy) Hoffman, Mary (Ken) Brown, Jennifer (Joshua) Noll, David Rockwell, Chip McCrary, Jeff Strickland, Melissa and Eddie Rockwell; her great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Rachel Stewart, Gabriel and Griffen Stoner, Benjamin Gautsch, Tony, Sydney and Jackson Link, Judaea Bouwens, Evan Hoffman, Riley, Christian and Keaton Brown, Aubriana Rockwell; her great-great-grandchildren, Zoey and Aiden Jansen-Stewart; brother, John E. Olson of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde O. Bouwens and Edward A. Rockwell; her daughter, Norma Allene Bouwens; her son, Charles C. Bouwens; two sisters, Virginia Fredrickson and Mildred Grasmick.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. with Holly Anderle officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to First Baptist Church or to the Leukemia Society have been suggested.
