Mrs. Evelyn A. (nee: Golz) Klyzub, 83, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints on Thursday, September 11, 2008.
Evelyn was born in Columbus on August 25, 1925, to the late Paul and Martha (nee: Splieth) Golz, and had lived in Racine for most of her life. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Carl M. Klyzub in 1946. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1992.
Mrs. Klyzub had been employed as a laborer at Ametek-Lamb Electric until her retirement in 1991. Evelyn actively participated in the Holy Cross Bible Study Group. She loved volunteering at the Racine Lutheran High Thrift Shop and had made many friends through there. She was best known for her great sense of humor, her dedication to her family, and her unconditional love, understanding and support.
Evelyn is survived by her five children, John (Vicki), James both of Florida, Debra (Lee) of South Carolina, Patricia (Rick), and April (Dale) both of Racine; twelve grandchildren, Michele, Rhonda, Kristine, Stacy, Michael, Jennifer, Krissy, Zachary, Scott, Desaray, Crystal, and Raymond; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor; two brothers, Roland (Vi) and Guilbert (Pam); special nieces and nephews, Judy, Linda, David, Susie, and Joanne; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Lester.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday September 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Evelyn’s brother, Rev. Roland Golz officiating. A private internment, for the family only, will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 9 until service time. Memorials may be directed to the Racine Lutheran High School Scholarship Fund or to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
