Bonita (Kelly) Moten

Bonita Moten, age 49, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008, at her residence. Bonita was born in Chicago, IL, June 27, 1959, daughter of Robert C. and Elmetta (Nee: Bundurent) Kelly.

Throughout her career Bonita was employed by the Racine Police Department, as a County Clerk, City Hall, as County Treasurer, and lastly at the Southern Wisconsin Center as a Resident Care Technician. She was a member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Church and former member of Grace Temple Church and St. Paul Baptist Church. Bonita was a foster mother and Big Sister. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Yarnell I. Moten; her grandson, Erick J. Russell; her mother, Elmetta Kelly; four sisters, Stephanie (E-Fran) Wilks of Tacoma, WA, Linda Myrick, Junevela (Douglas) Gray, Kimberly Winford, all of Racine; four brothers, Hosea Moten Jr., Jonathan (Sabrina) Moten, all of Racine, Champ (Christy) Kelly of Hazelcrest, IL, Willie LaGrone of Racine; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert C. Kelly

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 19, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Willie Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
