Irene B. (Kellbach) Krause

Irene B. Krause, age 100, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Lakeshore Manor. Irene was born in Wausau on March 18, 1908, daughter of the late Richard and Martha (Nee: Kriesel) Kellbach.

On February 11, 1926, in Waukegan, IL, she was united in marriage to Fred E. Krause who preceded her in death on June 8, 1986. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1936. She enjoyed playing the organ and traveling with her husband. She also loved cooking and baking and was known for her famous bread, apple pie and potato salad. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her two daughters, Carol Ohde of Racine and Virginia Doyle of Hinsdale, IL: her two grandchildren, Karen (Dennis) Nordentoft of Racine and David (Becky) Ohde of Cumming, GA; her three great-grandchildren, Christine (Dan) Lenczner, Julie (Todd) Hendricksand Jessica Ohde; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Gianna, and Aspen Lenczner, Justin and Jacob Hendricks; sister-in-law, Ruth Kellbach of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Edward Doyle, William Ohde Jr.; brothers and sisters, Elmer, Walter, Wilbert and Viola.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Ave., on Monday, September 29, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Randal Poppe officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lakeshore Manor and Meals on Wheels volunteers for their loving and compassionate care.
