Betty was born on February 3, 1925, in Chicago, IL. She was an extremely talented artist (mostly oil painting). She loved doing portraits and did beautiful landscapes and seascapes. She was also an avid golfer. Betty was well known for the hundreds of afghans she made for nursing home residents and the elderly. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother and grandmother.Betty is survived by her four daughters, Judith (Dr. Leonard) Schwartzbaum, Patricia (Dr. G. Phillip ) Hicks, Kay “Cookie” (Jerry) Grimm, Ruth Anne Lichter; one son, Kai “Kip” (Gail) Jensen; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her friend and caretaker, Maria Pinherio, who enabled her to remain at her home for many years. Betty was further preceded in death by a grandson, John Aaron Skornicka, on June 4, 2007.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jensen will be held at the West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Monday, August 31, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating.
