Virginia A. (Goetz) Konicek

With her loving daughter by her side, Virginia A. Konicek, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 4, 2009. Virginia was born in Racine on March 31, 1919, daughter of the late Adolph and Nettie (nee: Peters) Goetz and had been a lifelong resident.

On June 14, 1941, Virginia was united in marriage to George J. Konicek. Following fifty-seven beautiful years together, George preceded her in death October 2, 1998. In her younger years, Virginia was employed with Western Publishing for a number of years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (James) Foldy of Racine; grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Kiesler, Jerome (Sue) Foldy, Kristen (Kevin) Cantrell, Michael (Tammy) Foldy; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Ruth, Hailey, Garrett and Keith; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Stella (Lawrence) Hauser; and her brother, Elmer Goetz.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a future date and will be announced. Private interment was held at Graceland Cemetery.
