FRANKSVILLE – Robert ‘Bob’ James Lund, 90, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009, at his residence.
He was born in Racine on July 10, 1919, the son of Fredrick and Edna (nee: Peterson) Lund. He grew up on a farm in Raymond. On August 11, 1944, Robert was united in marriage to Leila France.
Bob was a heavy equipment operator for 34 years with James Cape & Sons, retiring in 1983. After retirement he continued to work, including Oakes and Blakies Construction. Until his recent illness, he was still able to operate heavy equipment. He was a member of Operators Engineer Local 139 for 56 years. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and cutting grass.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Leila; four daughters, Patricia Lund of Dublin, CA, Joyce (Darry) Dahl, Jeanne (Rob) Wilks and Connie (Tom) Dremel all of Franksville; son, Bob (Lori) Lund of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Vogel of Caledonia. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his beloved dog, Buffy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister; and sisters, Vera and Doris.
Please join us in celebrating Bob’s life at Tom and Connie’s home, 2512 65th Dr., Franksville, WI 53126. There will be a time for family and friends to meet on Sunday, August 30, 2009, from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. with a remembrance service at 4 p.m.
